Orange cardamom cookies are here for you. They’re like a palate refresher after a season of sweets, with fresh citrus and a touch of spice. Share them or save them all for yourself.
Ingredients
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ tsp orange extract
1 egg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
⅓ cup oats
1 tsp cardamom
Zest and juice of one small orange
1 cup flour
Sugar in the raw
Directions
Combine butter and sugar in a mixer and mix until creamy. Add egg, salt, baking powder, cardamom, zest, and juice of small orange, and oats. Mix on medium-low and then slowly add in flour. Once the dough has formed, scoop onto plastic wrap and roll into the shape of a log. Place dough in the freezer for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375° F while the dough is chilling. Take the chilled dough and cut it into ¼ inch slices. Sprinkle with sugar in the raw and cardamom. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 375° F for 8-10 minutes.
