Wow, I have been pondering the questions you asked. My scenario is that the intended victim was supposed to be Richard Lord. Toni had stolen the deed to the Merry Windsor as part of the scam she and Peter/Pierre were trying to pull off. After poor Richard’s demise, they would pull out the deed with Peter’s name as owner and lay claim to it. However, there is a twist. Hank found out about this scam and switched the glasses in the kitchen. So, Peter took the poison instead. Jules and Lance are going to reenact the deed switch/poison plot.
